Whitney Houston performs "I Will Always Love You" in Tobago

It's really not that grape but the fact that she got up there and performed gives us some hope. Maybe she can't perform live (like Mariah Carey) but maybe she can still come out with s decent "studio album".Whitney's much-anticipated new album is tentatively slated for a November release.

Despite being ridiculed as a 'one hit wonder', teen star Soulja Boy is currently readying his sophomore LP as well as several other ventures. Check out the report via MTV.com:

"My new album is called Back to School," he revealed last week in Atlanta. "Basically, it is really me taking it back to the basics. It's time to start studying again. Make it happen, man. ... The time I drop the album, everybody is gonna be going back to school. My fans are 21 and under. That's what I'm focusing on."

Soulja may have rapped about getting F's in school, but since he's become a celeb, the young'un has obviously garnered knowledge in economics. He has a full blitz tied into the album. Besides the record, he's dropping the Soulja Boy sunglasses, his own signature shoes called Yums, as well as a cartoon titled "Bad Little Homies" about him and his friends. Not to be left out is the ever-essential clothing, S.O.D.s. It's named after his record label, Stacks on Deck. On deck are his protégés the All-Stars. Topping it all off will be the Soulja Boy and Friends Tour, featuring himself and other young acts.

Soulja said that since he's making all that money now, he'll be willing to open his album up for collaborations this time. He produced 90 percent of his debut and had no big-name features.

"I'm on Interscope [Records]. I could have went to 50 [Cent], Polow [Da Don], Timbaland," he said about his first effort. "I feel as though I had to prove myself. [This time,] I'mma look around [for tracks], whether it's a producer like Polow or a producer nobody ever heard of. For my fanbase, people who tune in to Soulja Boy, I think a good feature would be me and Chris Brown. Soulja Boy featuring Chris Brown — my audience would be like, 'Oh my God!' "

O dropped from record label

According to our good friend Jawn Murray over at AOL Black Voices, R&B singer has been unceremoniously dropped by his label Columbia Records. Check out the report below:

A source at the label confirmed to the BV Buzz that the Sony imprint decided to drop the former B2K lead singer.

Omarion (real name: Omari Ishmael Grandberry) signed as a solo artist to Columbia Records after B2K broke up in December 2003. His boy band was actually signed to Sony's Epic division.

The 23-year-old singer released two solo CDs for the record company, including 2005's 'O' and 2006's '21.' Both albums were certified gold.

In December of 2007, Omarion partnered with rapper Bow Wow on the CD, 'Face Off.' To date, the set has sold 341,137 units according to SoundScan.

No word on what the singer's plans are for life after Columbia Records.

My source speculated that if former Sony executive David McPherson fills the late Ronnie Johnson's job as Executive Vice President and head of Urban Music at Capitol Records, its likely Omarion could end up there. McPherson was influential in B2K's success at Epic.

Another option could be Motown Records.

Omarion's management and production company, The Ultimate Group (TUG) has a deal with that label and released Omarion's good friend and business partner Marques Houston's last two CDs through Motown.

Pretty Ricky has a new member

Following the departure of Pretty Ricky's lead singer (Pleasure) last year, the group have revealed their new member - Ambition/4Play (pictured second from the right). The singer will now serve as 'the new voice of Pretty Ricky'

Following mounting speculation, Kanye West's fiancée Alexis Phifer has confirmed that she and the rapper have, indeed, ended their relationship. The pair had been engaged for a year and a half, having dated on and off since 2002. Check out the report via PEOPLE.com:

"It's always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer tells PEOPLE. "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met."

Phifer was spotted on the red carpet sans her engagement ring at an "Evenings in Vogue" event on Thursday night in New York, where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured.

"They'd been having problems," a pal of West's says. "Kanye is really focused on his show; he's putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they've split."

According to the friend, Phifer and West, both 30, had been spending less time together in the last few weeks as the Grammy-winning star prepared for his nationwide "Glow in the Dark" tour. "I haven't seen [Alexis] around at all the last few times I’ve seen him recently," the friend added.

Re-Lease of "The Dutchess"

Accroding to MTV Ms.Fergie will be re-realing her album "The Dutcess". The multi-Platinum smash will be out May 27 with new sinlges such as "Party People," which, "incidentally", is also featured on Nelly's upcoming Brass Knuckles. Turns out, it was Fergie's first.

After being asked by she decided to re-release the album:

"That's what everyone's doing nowadays, I hear," she laughed. "The label came to me and said this would be a good idea, and I thought, 'Well, OK, if this is another way for me to put out these songs that I've been wanting people to hear, then great.' The music business is changing, and this repackage thing is a new way for people to put out songs that they want people to hear, so I'm cool with it."

I hope it works put for her.

While Beyonce and Jay-Z continue to remain tight-lipped about their much-talked about wedding two weeks ago, the pair made a very public declaration of their union. This past Friday the pair finally signed their marriage licence - before it expired, according to PEOPLE.com:

Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling tells PEOPLE the license – which lists the wedding date as April 4 – was received on Friday afternoon. The couple applied for the license just three days before the ceremony.

Estelle Must "fix" theeth

According to reports, R&B star Estelle is receiving pressure from her US label to make changes to her appearance:

US label Atlantic Records wants Estelle to have surgery on her teeth to help her break into the American charts, say reports.

Her bosses also want her to ditch the boyish haircut she has in her 'American Boy' video and would like to give her image a complete overhaul, according to The Sun.

"The American executives are adamant she makes a lot of significant changes," said a source. "They want rid of her tomboy hair and want her to get her teeth fixed.

"Estelle is not happy. She feels her teeth and the rest of her look are a big part of her character."

The R&B star has spent the last three weeks at number one on the UK singles chart.
